The Bridge
Riffing upon the iconic hand-painted gig-guide sign seen by hundreds of thousands of Sydney commuters each week upon the facade of the Bridge Hotel in Victoria Road, Rozelle, The Bridge is a collaboration with local signwriter and equine artist Garry Higgin (who has plied his trade for 47 years and painted the sign since 2009). Instead of local rock warriors and overseas touring acts, our sign ‘advertises’ the largely unseen regional battles waged at key NSW environmental sites over the past decade. Many are special places under threat from coal mines operated by global corporations hand-in glove with the state government.
Painted curved 4mm MDF sign, 320 x 320 cm
